Deckboard, last updated 13 October 2026
In short
Deckboard does not collect, store or share any personal data on servers of the developer. The app talks only to the Nextcloud server that you enter yourself.
Who is responsible
Jonas Kloos, KloosTech. Contact details: see the imprint, or email jonas@kloos.tech.
What the app processes
- Server connection: the address of your Nextcloud server, your user name and an app password (or the app password created by "Sign in with browser"). They are stored only on your device, in the Android Keystore, the iOS/macOS Keychain, or the operating system keychain on desktop. On Android, they are excluded from backups.
- Your Deck content: boards, cards, comments, labels, users and attachments names are requested from your own Nextcloud server and shown in the app. Changes you make are sent back to that server. This data is not sent anywhere else.
- App settings: display options such as the layout and the refresh interval are stored locally on your device.
What the app does not do
- No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No accounts with the developer, so there is no account to delete.
- No data is transferred to the developer.
Your Nextcloud server
The operator of your Nextcloud server processes your data under their own privacy policy. Deckboard connects over the address you enter; use https:// so that traffic is encrypted. The app warns when you enter an unencrypted http:// address.
Sign in with browser
This opens your Nextcloud server in the system browser so that you can approve the app. Deckboard then receives an app password from your server. Your main password is never seen by the app.
Deleting your data
Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data. (On desktop, the keychain entry "de.kloostech.deckboard" can also be deleted in your system keychain.) To revoke access completely, delete the app password under Settings → Security → Devices & sessions on your Nextcloud server.
Your rights
Because the developer does not process personal data through the app, there is nothing to access, correct or erase on our side. For data on your server, contact its operator. You can also contact the supervisory authority of your country.
Changes
If the app changes in a way that affects privacy, this page is updated and the date above changes.
